Tree Beds

The City strives to build, permit, and manage as diverse an urban ecosystem as possible and per Local Law 1065 of 2023, NYC has set a target to reach 30% overall tree canopy within the city by 2035. A diverse ecosystem is ultimately more resilient and reduces the risks associated with urban forest management and maintenance. Visit the NYC Parks' Website, the NYC Parks' Interactive Tree Map and the NYC Parks' “Our Urban Forest” storymap for more information.
